FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Infusion Pump HF-710A

Answers to common questions about product selection, use, and support.

Does the HF-710A have a dedicated version for veterinary hospitals, and how does it differ from the human version?
Yes. The customized veterinary hospital version of the HF-710A is model HepoVET VI1, adapted on the same hardware platform for veterinary clinical dosing scenarios: it supports low-speed micro-volume infusion for small animals, its occlusion pressure and air-in-line alarm thresholds are adapted to veterinary infusion lines, and it has a built-in veterinary drug library, making it more suitable for the diagnosis and treatment of dogs, cats, and other animals. Both share the same hardware safety architecture, using the medical-grade dual CPU design, dual upstream/downstream line pressure sensors, and ultrasonic air detection. The human version HF-710A is used according to medical standards for patient infusion in wards, emergency care, and other scenarios. Veterinary version selection and parameters can be obtained by consulting customer service.
How long can the built-in battery run continuously? Will it shut down on power failure?
The built-in 3000 mAh lithium battery provides ≥10 hours of runtime at a flow rate ≤25 ml/h. When mains power is interrupted, it automatically switches to battery power without immediately shutting down; an audible and visual alarm is issued in advance before the battery is depleted.
The occlusion alarm triggers frequently; can the pressure be adjusted?
It supports 10 levels of occlusion pressure sensitivity adjustment, with a pressure detection range of 40 kPa - 130 kPa; the screen displays the line pressure value dynamically in real time. When an alarm occurs, first check for kinked tubing or a blocked needle, then adjust the pressure level according to the patient's condition and the tubing diameter in use.
Can the air-in-line alarm sensitivity be adjusted? How large an air bubble triggers the alarm?
Air detection supports 10 levels of sensitivity adjustment with an adjustable detection threshold of 50 - 300 μl, identifying bubbles as small as ≥50 μl. Ultrasonic air detection is used to prevent air bubbles from entering the patient's body and causing risk.
How is the BOLUS rapid bolus function used, and does it have safety protection?
BOLUS is a single-dose rapid bolus function that delivers a rapid dose by setting the bolus volume. The device has a motor reverse-rotation protection mechanism to prevent reverse aspiration. Bolus operation should be performed by medical staff with strict control of the delivered dose.
Which IV sets are supported, and is calibration required?
It is compatible with dedicated or standard single-use IV sets (20 drops/ml or 60 drops/ml, tubing diameter 3.4 - 4.5 mm). The machine has built-in input and storage selection of multiple IV set brands; after changing the IV set brand, calibration is required to ensure infusion accuracy ≤±5%.
Will the screen be glaring at night?
It has a night mode: after 5 minutes of no operation during infusion, the screen dims automatically, so it does not disturb patients or medical staff in the ward at night.
