FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Enteral Nutrition Pump HF-910A

Answers to common questions about product selection, use, and support.

Must the HF-910A use dedicated nutrition pump consumables?
No dedicated consumables are required. The HF-910A uses an open consumables design and can directly use ordinary disposable enteral feeding sets conforming to the YY0843-2004 standard, lowering procurement and use costs. The device supports adding, editing, importing and exporting, calibrating and restoring built-in brands, and can store no fewer than 100 tube brands; when changing to a new brand of tubing, it is recommended to complete tube calibration first to ensure infusion accuracy.
What is the temperature range of the heating function, and could it burn the patient?
The heating range is 32~50℃ (or 90~122℉) with a temperature control accuracy of ≤±2℃, and heating can be switched on or off as clinically required. The device provides multiple protections including high-temperature, low-temperature, warmer detached and warmer not connected alarms. The warmer only pre-warms the nutrient solution inside the tubing and does not contact the patient; it is recommended to set an appropriate temperature clinically to avoid irritation of the digestive tract from excessive temperature.
What clinical scenarios do continuous mode and intermittent mode suit?
Continuous mode is suitable for 24-hour continuous enteral feeding at a constant rate, with a preset volume of 1~99999ml and a time range of 00:00:02~99:59:59, for patients requiring continuous nutritional supply such as critically ill and post-operative patients. Intermittent mode allows a custom single feeding duration (1min~24h) and number of cycles (1~100), mimicking the body's eating rhythm, better suited to patients with good gastrointestinal tolerance and convenient for daytime care and activity. For specific feeding regimens, please follow medical advice.
What are the aspiration, flushing and KTO functions for?
Automatic/manual flushing is used to flush the tube and reduce the risk of blockage; aspiration supports manual/automatic withdrawal of fluid from the tube to help assess gastric residual and tube status; KTO (keep tube open) maintains tube patency at a low rate to prevent blockage caused by prolonged stasis; the priming and fast-forward functions (speed adjustable 1~1200ml/h, priming default 2000ml/h) are used to quickly clear air bubbles from the tube and complete priming. The aspiration, flushing and fast-forward speeds can all be adjusted within the range of 1~1200ml/h.
What is the battery life? What should be noted when using it during transport?
The built-in rechargeable lithium battery (DC10.8V, 2600mAh) provides ≥10 hours of operation at a low infusion rate of ≤25ml/h; battery life is correspondingly shorter at high infusion rates. The device provides low battery, battery depleted, battery missing and mains power disconnected alarms. Before transport, confirm that the battery is sufficiently charged and secure the tubing and pump body to ensure continuous infusion during transport.
What functions does Wi-Fi connectivity provide?
The device has built-in network configuration and can connect via Wi-Fi to the infusion monitoring and management workstation (HepoMS M1 central monitoring management system). Once connected, medical staff can remotely view the operating status, infusion parameters and alarm events of multiple enteral feeding pumps from the central workstation, enabling centralized multi-bed monitoring and management, reducing the frequency of bedside rounds, and promptly detecting and handling feeding abnormalities and device alarms.
