FAQ

Frequently asked questions about HepoVET VW1 for Pets

Answers to common questions about product selection, use, and support.

What is the HepoVET VW1 used for?
The VW1 is a veterinary blood & fluid warming device used to warm blood, blood products, or medicinal fluids during blood transfusion and fluid infusion in animals, bringing the infused fluid close to the animal's body temperature to help prevent hypothermia and improve coagulation. It is suitable for surgery, emergency blood transfusion, and postoperative rewarming in veterinary hospitals.
What temperature can be set, and what temperature is commonly used clinically?
The temperature is adjustable within the range of 32℃~42.0℃. In most clinical cases it is set close to the small animal's body temperature; the specific warming temperature should be determined according to the animal's weight, condition, and medical orders.
How long does preheating take? Is it fast enough for emergencies?
The device uses an ultra-fast preheating design, with a preheat time of ≤2 minutes from 23℃ to 42.0℃, significantly shortening fluid preparation time during large-volume emergency transfusion without delaying resuscitation.
What are the advantages of the dry silicone heating tube over traditional water-bath heating?
The dry silicone heating tube requires no water bath, fundamentally avoiding the infection risk that water-bath heating may cause; the effective heating temperature is delivered directly to the small animal with minimal heat loss, and routine maintenance is simpler and more convenient.
How are the 15 types of heating tubes selected?
Heating tubes of different diameters correspond to blood transfusion and infusion lines of different sizes. The device is equipped with 15 types of dry silicone heating tubes and supports plug-and-play operation; they can be selected directly according to the line size actually in use and are easy to replace.
What safety protections does the device have?
It uses a dual-CPU control system and is equipped with a triple hardware and software heating protection device with a forced high-temperature cut-off function: once the temperature rises abnormally, heating is forcibly cut off to ensure animal safety.
Is the screen readable from a distance?
The device uses an extra-large display with white characters on a black background, so surgeons or nursing staff can clearly read the device temperature and operating status from a certain distance at the operating table without frequently approaching to check.
Is a single channel sufficient, and when should the VW2 be chosen?
A single channel is sufficient for routine blood transfusion or fluid warming; if blood and medicinal fluids need to be warmed simultaneously on the same device, or multiple fluid lines are used at the same time during surgery, the dual-channel HepoVET VW2 (155mm×115mm×175mm, 1.2kg) is recommended.
Which clinical scenarios is it suitable for?
It is suitable for blood and fluid warming during surgery, emergency transfusion resuscitation, abdominal lavage fluid warming, and postoperative rewarming in veterinary hospitals - scenarios in which animal hypothermia needs to be prevented or treated.
How are procurement and after-sales support guaranteed?
This product has complete certification documents; the registration certificate, authorization, and technical materials required for procurement by veterinary hospitals and distributors are available from Olsmed Medical on request. Olsmed Medical provides full lifecycle services including installation training, repair and maintenance, spare parts supply, and operating guidance.
